Ifarm360 has partnered with smallholder farmers in Kenya to grow red bulb onions on a commercial scale. This partnership involves market-driven production secured by farmer contract and off-take contract by large buyers.
Kenyan farmers have been doing their best to address the demand and close the gap in onion production, but there is still more supply to be achieved. This makes the red bulb onion a very attractive commercial investment for the Kenyan market at the moment, since local production is not enough, yet demand is sustainably high.
We are giving you an opportunity to participate in the Kenyan red onion value chain with promising returns in just six months.
With a unit (a portion of an acre) going for Ksh 20,000 ($180), you can fund this project and get a 10% return on your principal with payout in May 2021. Once we close the fundraising period, we begin production, and provide regular updates on progress, up until harvest, and sale of the commodity.
